Moosun Go-Kart Torque Converter CVT Clutch

This is a quality aftermarket reproduction of the Comet-made TAV2 Torque Converter kit. Designed for use on go-karts, mini-bikes, and other small equipment with engine sizes ranging from 2HP to 8HP.

The torque converter is a must-have for live axle go-karts, especially those with rear tires larger than 16 inches. A centrifugal clutch will not be able to handle the demands of these setups. For your convenience, this kit comes with both a 12-tooth sprocket for #35 chain and a 10-tooth sprocket for #40/41/420 chain.

This torque converter is fully compatible with Comet and TAV2 torque converters, which are widely used in lawn equipment, small tractors, karts, miniature bicycles and choppers, all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles, water skis, CVT gearboxes, small vehicles, golf carts, snowmobiles, ATVs, and various industrial applications.

The key components have been pre-assembled for your convenience. The specifications are as follows: - Material: Iron & Aluminum - Drive clutch bore: 3/4" (19mm) - Driven unit diameter: 6" (5/8" driven pulley) - Sprocket teeth: 10 for #40/41/420 chain, 12 for #35 chain - Engagement range: 2350 ± 200 RPM - Recommended engine size: 2HP-8HP - Belt type: Asymmetrical

This torque converter kit is a direct replacement for Comet OEM part numbers 218353A, 219552A, 219456A, 217610A, and 203814A, as well as the TAV2 30-75 model.

IMPORTANT: - The center-to-center spacing for the driver and driven pulley needs to be between 6-5/8 inches and 6-11/16 inches. - The 2-1/2° angle (flat side) of the belt must be against the 2-1/2° angle pulley flange, next to the engine.

NOTE: - The belt should be straight in the sheaves when the torque converter (driver, driven, and belt) is mounted on parallel shafts and the system is in the low (neutral or idle) position. - Off-road karts work best with two-wheel drive. In sand or loose dirt, a live axle with both wheels turning provides better traction than a single wheel. - Torque converters offer better acceleration from a standstill and allow karts to be geared for higher top speeds compared to centrifugal clutches.
